Quarantine
Project: 2D Top-down Life Simulation Game
Type: Independent project
Duration: 3 month
Role: Game designer, UI Designer, Level Designer
Concept
It’s a Top-down life simulation game that is inspired by the quarantine during 2020. The player controls Owen, the main character, to live in his house for 30 days during the pandemic. The player can explore the house, interact with different furniture (computer, bookshelf, etc.) to increase/decrease Owen’s attribute values. Those values can trigger various events and lead to different endings.
I designed this game with the hope that we can take the quarantine as an opportunity to experience things that we never have time to try during our busy lives and a chance to develop our interests, and maintain the relationships with friends and family, to be a better self.
